Wolves Cruise into Regional Quarterfinals

Lake Park, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – Harris-Lake Park had no trouble with St. Mary’s of Storm Lake Thursday night to open up the Class 1A Postseason.

The Wolves took the #7 seed and matched up with the #10 seed Panthers in Class 1A Region 7.

Harris-Lake Park held St. Mary’s to only 1 point in the 1st quarter while scoring 17 themselves.

The Wolves extended that lead to 24 after outscoring the Panthers 15-7 in the 2nd quarter and led 32-8 at the half.  Lilli Gunderson scored 11 points in the first half for Harris-Lake Park along with 5 other scorers.

It was cruise control for the 2nd half, as Harris-Lake Park scored 30 over the final two quarters while holding St. Mary’s to only 5, which the panthers scored all of in the 3rd quarter.

Lilli Gunderson would be the Wolves leading scorer on the night with 12, Cora Niemeier had 8 in the 2nd half on her way to 11.  Also in double figures was Gracie Gunderson with 10.

Isabelle Landgraf had 8 to lead St. Mary’s in the loss as they finish the season 2-20.

Harris-Lake Park advances to the 1A Region 7 Quarterfinals where they will face the #2 seed GTRA.  That game is at 7:00 on February 17th and you can hear it on Big Country 107.7.
